Before building on Avalanche, we had several choices, but Avalanche was by far our top choice. Here’s why:
High scalability
Avalanche uses a unique consensus based on Subnets (which became Layer 1 with the migration to Avalanche9000), which allows for up to 4,500 transactions per second, much faster than many other blockchains. This makes it a suitable platform for demanding applications, such as DeFi or blockchain gaming.
Competitive transaction fees
Avalanche offers very low transaction fees compared to blockchains like Ethereum, which reduces costs for users and makes applications more accessible.
In addition, since CodeNekt has its own Blockchain on Avalanche, we can use our own token (CDK) to manage it and to handle transaction fees.
Flexibility and customization with Subnets
Developers can create custom subnets tailored to their needs, with specific rules or even private blockchains, while benefiting from the security of the main Avalanche platform.
For CodeNekt, the stakes are high because it allows us to create an ecosystem specific to the automotive industry and reassure the players in this industry with security levels that we can adapt as we wish.
Interoperability
Avalanche supports smart contracts compatible with Ethereum thanks to the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), facilitating the migration or integration of Ethereum applications on Avalanche.
For a large-scale project like ours and a large number of players, this will allow us to easily communicate with other upcoming EVM Blockchains in the automotive industry.
Eco-friendly and energy-efficient
The Proof of Stake mechanism used by Avalanche consumes much less energy than blockchains using Proof of Work. This makes it a more environmentally friendly option.
For a mission like CodeNekt’s, which is to guarantee the traceability of the car’s life but also the reduction of its carbon footprint, it’s just common sense.
Avalanche9000
Avalanche’s recent major migration pushes this extraordinary Blockchain to even more impressive dimensions. We no longer talk about Subnets, but rather about Layers 1.

CodeNekt participates in the Retro9000 program which aims to obtain a grant from the Avalanche Foundation to cover development costs. We have a mission that is not only of public utility (transparency, security, eco-responsibility) but also promotes the adoption of Web3 technologies by the greatest number, without friction.
